Shredder

SMIDE shredders or coarse cutters cut potatoes, fruit, vegetables, foodstuffs and residual products into smaller parts that have a diameter of, for instance, 10 mm. As a result, organic products are easier to pump and process. The shredders are available in both a single- and a double-shaft execution. The machine is of modular design, so that the product size can be set by adjusting the pack of blades. 

Since the early nineties the SMIDE shredders have frequently been applied in the animal feed and recycling industries. Furthermore, SMIDE shredders are used to prepare flows of organic matter so that these are suitable for processing in fermenting and composting installations.
