Expansion production facility update #2

In February, Smicon started with the construction of a new production facility as an expansion of the current building in Wanroij, the Netherlands. The total expansion that will be realised is over 1000 m² which brings the total production area of Smicon to 3800 m² including an office building of 800 m². Construction is expected to be completed in September 2022. With this expansion, Smicon prepares itself for the worldwide growing demand of recycling solutions.

At this moment, the facade cladding of the hall is being completed and the necessary equipment has been installed. A lot of work has been done to pour the concrete floor in the coming weeks in order to start using the hall. Underfloor heating has been installed in the hall to create a pleasant working atmosphere.

In combination with the underfloor heating, Smicon has invested in a sustainable solution for the ventilation, cooling and heating of all production halls (current and newly built). In the first place, this ensures a healthy and pleasant working environment for all our colleagues. Secondly, this will be an energy efficient system to reduce our impact on the environment when producing Smicon recycling solutions.
